Catholicism is better if you want greater freedom. It's worse if you, as I do, dislike all the rituals.
It seems that you still believe the Bible is the word of God. At this point you are better off practicing Christianity away from organized religion. The most common path out of JW's religion is atheism or agnosticism. Try it. It offer the best answers, that is, if you are a critical thinker.

Give him the benefit of the doubt. He may not mean anything other than he wants to give something to the baby. He may be like many of us, clumsy at gift giving. -

For the Supporters of Those Who Love Jehovah
by lovesjehovah ini am jehovah's witness, despite some of the questionable teachings, crimes, and other outlandish behaviors of specific people affiliated with the religion.
i know that my relationship with jehovah is not influenced by any outside factors.
i do not condone any crime.

I picked up the bible and truly read it in 2012.
Really? I looked in your comments for a quote from scripture. Nothing, other than misquoting few times Rev 22:18-19.
- Add to that that you are an unrepentant gay.
- Add to that that you don't speak JW language.
- Add the pot
- Add a forgiving, benevolent God
- Add a patent ignorance of JW's doctrine
You my friend are an impostor

"Most women would prefer to be stay at home housewives. Women's lib did alot of damage to women!"
by purrpurr inthe above is a quote from a jw female relative.
this was in response to a discussion about the suffragette movement ( and the movie about it that's currently in cinemas).
she seemed to think that it would be so much better if women were just daughters/ wives/ mothers and didn't go out to work and have career's?

Yes, "Most women" who have been raised under the heavy influence of traditional patriarchal norms prefer to stay home. Hers is obviously a reflection of her upbringing, and therefore a very subjective statement. -

why does "cult" seem so synonymous with America?
I take umbrage. Just because we have the largest number of fundamentalist Christians, and believe in huge numbers in the literal biblical creation accounts, reject science, gave birth and are base to cults like the Mormons, the JW's, the Seven Day Adventist, Scientology, the church of God, and hundreds others...well, it doesn't give you a right to make my adoptive country synonymous with cult...o maybe it does.

You have to love when people do their homework. This guy was ready to support his argument.
- At minute 2 he refers to Mat 24:34 where Jesus talks to his disciples. Therefore this generation refers to anointed
- Then "overlapping generations" is supported by the Watchtower April 15, 2010 "evidently..."
- Then in January 15, 2014 brother Splane gives a more precise explanation
- Then recently, in a video, brother Splane further expanded in the explanation introducing the linchpin: brother Franz.
Stephen Lett words apply here too, "there is more proof for the overlapping generations than there is for gravity, electricity and wind"
There you have it. Is there a better example of circular reasoning?
